đHappy Motherâs Day to all you mamas with migraine. đ You deserve a gold medal. đYou deserve so much love and validation for the sacrifices you have made to raise human beings. But you also deserve so much love and validation for all that you do to take care of your other invisible child that no one else sees. đ¶Your invisible child called Migraine. Like a temperamental toddler, your migraine requires near constant attention. Your migraine must be fed and put to bed on a set schedule to be happy. đYour migraine will cry out and demand your care if you ignore it. Your migraine will have a tantrum when it doesnât get what it needs. đ„čBut just like soothing a crying baby, your migraine will calm down when you give it love and care. đ©I know that being a mother with migraine can make you feel guilty ALL.THE.TIME. Guilty that youâre irritable and impatient with your kids. Guilty that theyâre spending too much time on a tablet so you can rest. Guilty that you missed their soccer game or school play. I see you, migraine mama. đ I see how hard you are on yourself. I see how you're struggling to lead a ânormalâ life. And I see your invisible child called Migraine that no one else sees. đââïžBut migraine mama, you are not alone. And I give you permission to spoil yourself rotten today, even if no one else does. đBecause the more love and care you give YOURSELF and this colicky invisible child called Migraine, đthe more love and care you will be able to give to your own children. So letâs drop the mom guilt and celebrate self-compassion. đCelebrate being kind towards yourself. Celebrate YOU, migraine mama. đBecause you freakinâ deserve it. With all my love, Adriane PS If you are a mother or grandmother with migraine, Iâd love to share your words of wisdom and encouragement with other moms with migraine. Iâll assemble everyoneâs comments in a social media post so we can all support and inspire each other on our migraine journey.
